OME BANJOS CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF          OUTSTANDING CRAFTSMANSHIP WITH
THE INTRODUCTION OF A NEW SERIES               OF LIMITED EDITION INSTRUMENTS.
PRESS RELEASE: January 6, 2010

To commemorate Charles Ogsbury’s 50 years in the banjo business, his company Ome Banjos of Boulder, Colorado, is introducing its new Limited Edition “Celtic Star 50” models.
Charles Ogsbury began designing and building banjos in 1960 under the Ode name.  He sold Ode to Baldwin in 1966 and started Ome Banjos in 1970. Charles emphasizes that his long-term passion has always been to craft outstanding banjos which equal or surpass the best of the vintage classics.  Ome’s hand-built instruments feature exceptional tone, playability, and beauty, and are made to last a life-time.
The Ome “Celtic Star 50” is being limited to a total of 20 Bluegrass, 20 Open-back and 10 Tenor/Plectrum banjos.  Each instrument will feature Celtic inlays designed by Charles Ogsbury, along with select curly maple and ebony woods, hand-rubbed finishes and nickel-plated hand-engraved armrest and tailpiece.  Options such as wood carving, dye-coloring, and gold-plated metal parts are also available. Suggested retail prices start at $3,995 for Open-back banjos and $4,995 for Bluegrass and Tenor/Plectrum banjos.
Mountain Music has one of the "Celtic Star 50" Open-Backs in stock now!  In addition to the standard Celtic Star appointments, it features an 11" pot, Ome's Silverspun brass & steel tone ring, nickel plated parts, engraved arm rest and tailpiece, and a traditional amber hand rubbed finish.  Stop by and play this one of twenty commemorative open-back banjos.  Chuck Ogsbury and his team at Ome have outdone themselves with these magnificent limited edition instruments.  (See the Ome Banjo Company Blog>)
